Devoted to animal-free craftsmanship rooted in care, tradition, and respect for nature.
About the Gentle Bookbinder
My name is Angelica, and I am a retired librarian with a lifelong love of books, preservation, and the quiet beauty of well-crafted pages. After decades of working in libraries, I felt called to move from caring for books to creating them.
I named my business Gentle Bookbinding because my goal is simple and deeply important to me: to create beautiful, lasting materials that do not cause harm to animals or the natural world. Every piece I make is crafted using materials that are completely free of animal products and have not caused harm to animals.
In addition to my Master’s in Library Science and many years of professional experience, I am certified in both bookbinding and printmaking. These studies allow me to blend traditional craftsmanship with modern ethical responsibility.
My motto, “handcrafted with respect for nature and animals,” is more than a phrase — it is the foundation of my work, life, and the standard I hold myself to in every piece I create.
